Warburtons Joins Leading Chartered Accounting Group to Deliver Benefits to Clients

There have been a number of milestones since Tamworth chartered accounting firm Warburtons began way back in 1930, with one of the most significant occurring on 1st June 2011 when they announced they had joined the Lawler Chartered Accountants national alliance.

Lawler Chartered Accountants is a group of like-minded, independently-owned firms with offices in Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Newcastle, and Rockhampton. The group has in excess of 30 partners and 300 staff and is focused on providing quality service and value for money to its clients.

One of the key drivers for Warbutons Principals, Mark O’Connor, Brian Wall and Marg van Aanholt in joining the alliance, is to offer greater opportunities, benefits and synergies to clients and the business community. These synergies are a shared focus not only in the corporate and SME markets, but also in the key industry areas they service.

Lawler Chartered Accountants featured very prominently in the recent Business Review Weekly 2011 Client Choice Awards taking out the awards for Best National Professional Services Firm Revenue under $50m, Best National Accountancy Firm Revenue under $50m and the Best New South Wales Professional Services Firm.

The Lawler alliance of firms provides services in audit, business advice, business recovery and insolvency, corporate finance, financial planning, forensic accounting, hospitality and gaming, marketing, superannuation and taxation and operates in a wide range of sectors including the hospitality and gaming, franchising, pharmacy, independent food and mining industries where it has serviced clients in the NSW, ACT and Queensland markets for up to 20 years. The Alliance also provides the banking sector with a one-stop option for valuation, pre-lending, insolvency and business recovery needs.

According to Warburtons Business Advisory and Taxation Principal, Mark O'Connor, the strategic move offers the best of both worlds. "Lawler Chartered Accountants will provide us with additional expertise and available specialist resources from member firms who also have the same values and commitment to personalised client service and a structure where we remain an independently-owned and managed partnership. It will also see us recruit additional local staff to increase our capabilities in the current core service areas of accounting, taxation and audit, as well as providing significant additional training and resource benefits to our current team."

Lawler Chairman, Terry Lawler, said that having a presence in the dominant regional centre of Tamworth represented an important milestone in the alliance’s dedication to offer a superior  value and service range to business in NSW.

“We are committed to providing quality advice to decision makers in business and having a highly respected regional firm such Warburton's greatly adds to our NSW team."
